Terms of service

Last updated September 2, 2026. These terms govern access to Clippex, the AI clipping and video repurposing platform operated from Toronto, Canada.

Agreement

By creating an account, visiting clippex.tech or app.clippex.tech, or using the Clippex application programming interfaces, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you use Clippex for an organization, you confirm that you can bind that organization. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Who we are

Clippex operates from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Product support is support@clippex.tech. Mail may be sent to 2967 Dundas St. W. #1859, Toronto, ON M6P 1Z2.

The service

Clippex is an AI clipping tool. You may upload or connect long-form video, have audio transcribed, receive ranked scenes, choose caption styles, set framing and aspect ratio, and render short-form clips for destinations such as TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and landscape cuts. Features can change as we ship the product. We may add, limit or remove functions, including export resolution.

Accounts

You must provide accurate account information and keep credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your workspace, including actions by invited members. Notify us promptly at support@clippex.tech if you believe an account is compromised. We may refuse, suspend or close accounts that violate these terms or that create risk for other customers or the platform.

Clippex accounts are intended for people 18 years or older, or for an organization that lawfully authorizes an adult administrator.

Credits = source duration rounded up to each 60-second unit × scene selection (Best ×1, Many ×2, All ×3) × clipping model (Basic ×1, Clipper Pro ×2). The Pro subscription and Clipper Pro model are separate choices.

All project files, including source media, transcripts and generated clips, expire after 3 days on Trial, 7 days on Starter or Pro, and 30 days on Supreme. Finished projects count from completion; drafts and failed projects count from creation. Your project displays its deadline. Download files before it ends. Only monthly subscriptions are currently offered.

Acceptable use

You may not use Clippex to:

upload or process content you do not have the rights to use, transcribe, clip or publish;
infringe copyright, trademark, publicity, privacy or other legal rights;
create or distribute unlawful, exploitative or non-consensual intimate imagery;
attempt unauthorized access, scrape private data, disrupt infrastructure or probe other workspaces;
resell raw platform capacity in a way that evades plan limits without a written agreement;
misrepresent Clippex output as unaltered human-only editorial work when disclosure is required by law or platform rules.

We may remove content, pause jobs or terminate access when we reasonably believe these rules are broken.

Your content and license

You retain ownership of media, transcripts derived from your media, project settings and finished clips you create with Clippex (“user content”), except for Clippex software, models, presets and branding. You grant Clippex a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, transcode, transcribe, analyze, render, store and deliver user content solely to provide the service you request, including backups, abuse review and support.

You represent that you have all rights and consents needed for that processing, including rights in music, footage, likenesses and third-party materials. You are responsible for how you publish clips on social platforms.

AI processing disclaimer

Scene ranking, transcription, caption timing, framing suggestions and other automated results are generated by software. They can be incomplete, mistimed or wrong. Clippex does not guarantee virality, ranking quality, legal clearance of source material, or fitness for a particular campaign. You should review clips before publishing. Output is provided as is, without a warranty that AI results will match a human editor.

Credits and billing

Paid use is measured in credits. Transcription is billed at 1 credit per minute of source video that Clippex transcribes. Scene selection then applies a modifier: best scenes at 1x, many scenes at 2x, and all scenes at 3x. Example: a 120 minute source uses 120 credits for best scenes, 240 for many scenes, and 360 for all scenes.

Credits are not priced as one credit per finished output minute. Plan allowances, seat limits, top-ups and currency are shown in the live catalog on clippex.tech/pricing and in the application billing view. Taxes may apply. Subscriptions renew until canceled. If a job fails or is canceled before completion, reserved credits should be released. Contact support@clippex.tech if a ledger entry looks incorrect.

Refunds

Unless required by applicable consumer law, fees are non-refundable once credits are granted or a billing period begins. We may, at our discretion, credit or refund an obvious double charge, a failed payment that never provisioned access, or a documented platform defect that prevented contracted use. Chargebacks opened without first contacting support may lead to account suspension while we investigate.

Intellectual property

Clippex, the Clippex wordmark, caption presets, interface design, documentation and underlying software are owned by Clippex or its licensors. These terms do not transfer that ownership. Feedback you send may be used to improve the product without an obligation to you.

Third-party services

Payments are processed by Stripe. Infrastructure may include Cloudflare and GPU render partners. Optional marketing measurement may include Meta technologies after you consent. Google sign-in, if enabled, is governed also by Google’s terms. We are not responsible for third-party platform rules that affect how you publish clips.

Availability and changes

We aim for a reliable production pipeline but do not warrant uninterrupted uptime, particular render times or permanent storage beyond the retention window of your plan. We may change prices, credit math or features with notice on the site or in the product. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance of the update. Material credit-model changes will be described on the pricing page.

Termination

You may stop using Clippex and request account closure by emailing support@clippex.tech. We may suspend or terminate access for breach, legal risk, non-payment or prolonged inactivity. After closure, we delete or de-identify user content on the schedule in the privacy policy, except records we must keep for tax, fraud prevention or law.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Ontario and Canadian law, Clippex and its directors, contractors and suppliers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost footage, lost goodwill or substitute editing costs. Our aggregate liability for claims arising out of the service is limited to the greater of one hundred Canadian dollars and the amounts you paid to Clippex for the service in the three months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; those limitations apply only to the extent allowed.

Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify Clippex against claims arising from your user content, your publishing of clips, or your breach of these terms, including alleged copyright or publicity violations in source footage.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Toronto, Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may seek injunctive relief in any forum for unauthorized access or intellectual property misuse. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

General

These terms are the entire agreement for use of the service and supersede prior marketing statements. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. You may not assign the agreement without our consent; we may assign it in a reorganization or sale. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
